Aïcha & the pharmacy unit
Aïcha (Les conserves de Meknès) has been the title partner of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc since 1997, and has also been a partner of Cœur de Gazelles since its creation. The Moroccan food and beverage company represents the values of local economy and authenticity, which strongly resemble the values of Cœur de Gazelles.
Every year the company provides Cœur de Gazelles with the use of a truck to transport the pharmacy unit’s drugs to the villages visited by the medical caravan, even the most remote among them. Most of the communities they visit have no access to medical facilities because of the large distances between their homes.
The caravan’s pharmacy unit dispenses the drugs prescribed by the caravan’s doctors and teaches the patients how to use them, thanks to the unconditional support of our partner Aïcha.
Khamar and Abdeslam, the two truck drivers, accompanied the team throughout the entire edition and offered precious support. In addition to being in charge of the transport truck, Khamar and Abdeslam lent a hand to the volunteers during the medical consultations.
We would like to thank them for their investment and permanent good humour, which largely contributed to the friendly atmosphere of this edition. Huge thanks also to Aïcha for its unwavering commitment to the medical caravan.
