NICE – PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS
The City of Nice and Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, are pleased to host the opening ceremonies of the 29th edition. The Gazelles assemble on the iconic Promenade des Anglais, Nice in front of Théâtre de Verdure.
This day, open to the public as of 10:00, is dedicated to the launch of the 2019 edition. Gazelles’ families, friends and partners are welcome.
10:00 – Opening of the Rallye Start Village
There are a number of partner stands to visit: Bosch Car Service, VINCI IMMOBILIER, HEC, Alpes-Maritimes League against Cancer…
10:45-11:30 – The Gazelles drop off their donations for Cœur de Gazelles.
13:30 – A musical surprise with two 2 Gazelle artists!
Sophie Tapie, Gazelle 216 (Kiera CHAPLIN / Sophie TAPIE - https://www.sainthonore.com/en/) and singer, is pleased to perform her song “We love”.
Nathalie Lechat, Gazelle 131 (Hélène FABRE / Nathalie LECHAT - Aux bains de Cel) and professional saxophone player, is pleased to perform “Only God Can Save Our Souls” by Klingande.

MEANWHILE, IN MONACO
In 2017, the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc launched a new competition class for electric vehicles. His Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco is doing us the honour of giving the start for the 10 electric vehicles competing in this year’s edition.
10:30 – Official start for e-Gazelle Classin front of the Prince’s Palace in the Principality of Monaco
The teams then drive to Nice to join the rest of the Gazelles for the ceremonial start.
Dominique Serra has dedicated this 29th edition to Nasrin Sotoudeh – prominent Iranian lawyer and human rights advocate – who has been sentenced to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes for “inciting corruption and prostitution” by defending women who took off their headscarves in public.
