Cœur de Gazelles
Paediatrics
Paediatrics, like all medical specialties involving children, plays a key role within the medical caravan. Children are more receptive to advice and awareness tips than adults.
In addition to providing medical care, the paediatricians are tasked with prevention, which they do with pleasure: children are good emissaries and always listen attentively to the doctors’ recommendations. Hygiene and good eating habits are the backbone of these recommendations, and sustain the medical team’s actions.
The paediatrics team
First name: Aziz
Occupation: Paediatric surgeon
Number of years with CDG: 7
Why did you choose Cœur de Gazelles? “I replaced a friend, a volunteer with the caravan, at the last minute and I’ve been coming every year since. I come for the Cœur de Gazelles team, and because I like the contact with the population in this context: it is more spontaneous, less formal, and the people trust us.”
First name: Abdel
Occupation: Paediatric surgeon
Number of years with CDG: 6
Why did you choose Cœur de Gazelles? “I started because of Aziz, who asked me to replace another paediatrician with the caravan. I am very attached to the non-profit aspect; I have worked several times with medical caravans. Working with Cœur de Gazelles combines business with pleasure, because I get to spend time with the team, which is like a family.”
