Around the rally

Driving an electric vehicle in the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles wasn’t necessarily Sylvie’s first choice.

Driving an electric vehicle in the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles wasn’t necessarily Sylvie’s first choice. But on consideration, the Gazelle of Team 508 (Sylvie BREDOUX RICHARD / Marina DELTOUR - VINCI Immobilier) wouldn’t repeat the adventure any other way. “I am delighted with this choice because I find we have a completely different relationship with the environment”, explains the Gazelle, who enjoys the calm of her electric vehicle. “We can hear each other speak while driving and there’s no engine noise when we stop, it’s really enjoyable”, she remarks. “Our third Gazelle is very discreet”, adds her teammate Marina, delighted with the “pioneering aspect” of doing the rally in E-Gazelle Class.

“Driving an electric car is a very different experience, especially when it comes to strategy”, notes Marina, who says she is surprised “every day” by getting through places that she and her teammate would never have thought possible. We cross a lot of difficult terrain while remaining careful”, she affirms in response to those who might consider e-Gazelles a “sub-category” of Gazelle. Another positive aspect of their adventure: the “super ambiance” and “real solidarity” between the teams.

Enchanted by their experience, Sylvie and Marina are already thinking about doing it again next year: In E-Gazelle, “it goes without saying!

Dominique Serra has dedicated this 29th edition to Nasrin Sotoudeh – prominent Iranian lawyer and human rights advocate – who has been sentenced to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes for “inciting corruption and prostitution” by defending women who took off their headscarves in public.

I encourage everyone to sign the petition for her release.
