Let the games begin! After the Prologue on Wednesday March 20, 2019, each team handed in their electronic devices. Goodbye telephones, GPS, reflex cameras, electronic compasses and iPods… All must be declared ad handed over. They will be returned to the Gazelles at the end of the final leg on Thursday March 28, 2019.
No worries for Team 153 (Audrey FONDANAUX / Angélique LASPOUGEAS - Saturne Services): “That’s part of the game and it’s in the rules. We sent our last text messages with instructions to our husbands.” Chloé of Team 139 has tears in her eyes and difficulty giving up her telephone. Her mother, Béatrice, quickly comforts her. For others, it comes as a relief: “It feels good to hand them in. We’re going to be disconnected and be able to enjoy ourselves all the more” explains team 195 (Isabelle DURAND / Adriane PLANTIN VERDIER - CRIT).
Rest assured, you will still be able to write to your Gazelles and receive messages from them via the electronic message service set up in the mail tent. Careful, messages must not exceed 1,000 characters!
