En route to Essaouira
Array
Leg 6 | Marathon
On Friday March 29, the Gazelles left the hot, dusty, Moroccan desert to for the fresh air of Essaouira.
They kept their good habits and got up at dawn. Cars loaded, they made their final migration to the fabulous Essaouira beach, where they will celebrate the official finish of their adventure.
The 9-hour drive took them past quiet country landscapes and wild coastline. At lunch time they stopped in Taghazout, a small fishing port north of Agadir, where they enjoyed Moroccan specialties under a radiant sun.
This evening they will have the chance to discover the former city of Mogador and a sunset as spectacular as those at the bivouac. They will find all the modern comforts and a good night’s sleep in a real bed! Some Gazelles have family or friends eagerly awaiting their arrival. Tomorrow morning they will parade down the Essaouira beach to officially finish this 29th edition, starting at 9:30 a.m.
