At this morning’s competition briefing, the event’s sport director Ludovic Taché warns: “This is the most anticipated leg, the dunes, but they may be difficult”.
During this third leg, in the dunes of ERG CHEBBI, teams in AUTO/TRUCK Class can choose between 3 routes according to the challenge they wish to face. These three routes, called X, X and Z, all have CPs in the sand, but different levels of difficulty.
Route X is the most challenging, Route Y is intermediate, and Route Z is the least difficult, remaining in an area of low dunes. “Naturally, the values of the CPs reflect the level of difficulty of the chosen route.”
Teams in CROSSOVER/HYBRID Classes will have a special route outside the dunes, Route S. Teams in QUAD/SSV Classes must take Route X; those in E-GAZELLE VINCI Immobilier Class also have their own route.
Whatever route they choose, this evening the Gazelles can be proud at having faced down these majestic dunes…
