The City of Nice has been welcoming the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc since 2015.
Participants gather at Palais Nikaïa in Nicefor their technical, administrative and medical verifications. All teams have a strict schedule to follow before heading for the dunes: today’s program includes stickering, technical compliance, safety equipment (Iritrack, Sarsat) distribution and workshop, medical interview, verification of compulsory items & equipment…
Today they also receive their famous Rallye vests! This year’s vest is blue, in a nod to the City of Nice and its iconic blue chairs that line the Promenade des Anglais.

An information meeting will be held for future 2020 Gazelles. This meeting is special, as participating 2020 Gazelles will have the chance to attend this year’s Technical Verifications. This unique opportunity will give them a taste of the adventure and help motivate them for next year’s edition!

Dominique Serra has dedicated this 29th edition to Nasrin Sotoudeh – prominent Iranian lawyer and human rights advocate – who has been sentenced to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes for “inciting corruption and prostitution” by defending women who took off their headscarves in public.
