Atol, committed to vision prevention
PAROLE DE PARTENAIRE
Around the rally
ATOL, mon opticien has been a partner of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc for 9 years now. To represent this partnership, Victor Crepel, Technical and Institutional Manager for ATOL Paris, attended the technical, medical and administrative verifications on Friday March 15 at Palais Nikaïa in Nice. He greeted the Gazelles with a few gifts…
Investing in the Gazelles
For this 29th edition, optician Victor Crepel wanted to show the participants that the brand is investing in them. He came to distribute gifts to all the Gazelles, namely ATOL notebooks and, more importantly, polarizing sunglasses to eliminate the glare off the sand. In addition, every Gazelle received a pair of night driving glasses for the first time. “They are tinted yellow, which improves contrast and makes it easier to make out ground formations such as ruts, and they are made with an anti-reflective coating, which helps reduce glare from car headlights, for example.” Night glasses were also given to the event organizers.
Supporting the Cœur de Gazelles medical caravan
Made up of about 60 volunteers, the Cœur de Gazelles medical caravan provides the populations of southern Morocco with access to medical specialists such as opticians and ophthalmologists, in addition to dentists, paediatricians, gynaecologists and more. In charge of the Optics unit, ATOL provides logistics and staff support in the field. Many of the patients have never been seen by an optician or ophthalmologist. This year, Thibaut Pichereau, a Quality and Training Manager, will carry out eye exams and screen for different pathologies such as cataracts. After their examination, glasses are made to measure using the more than 2,000 pre-fabricated lenses brought to Morocco. Last year, the caravan carried out more than 600 optical consultations in 15 days and gave out more than 220 pairs of corrective glasses, in addition to 175 pairs of sunglasses.
