Flood of emotions at the finish line

Array
Leg 6 | Marathon

After nine days of adventure, the Gazelles proudly cross the finish line…

Laughter, tears, cries of joy… The full range of emotions can be found on the finish line of this sixth and final leg that marks the end of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles. The full range, but above all, pride. Pride at having made it to the end, to have “done things we couldn’t even have imagined”. “We’re relieved to have finished because we were tense until the end, something could have happened at the last minute”, explains Carine of team 510 (Stéphanie GUERRY / Carine POISSON - ZOE). “We’re proud of our performance”, adds her teammate Stéphanie.

“That’s it, you’re all Gazelles now”

The Moroccan Gazelles of Team 314 (Malika AJAHA / Hajar EL BIED) get out their flag for the finish line and jump into each other’s arms. “It was an incredible experience!” exclaims Françoise of Team 143 (Françoise MOURGUES-DELHAYE / Sofia TIQUET - Fibre Verte et Symbiooz), delighted to have shared this adventure with her daughter-in-law Sofia. “We did it”, shout the teams, moved at the finish line. “It’s magnificent to be here. All day we were afraid we wouldn’t make it”, says Florence, in tears. The Gazelles of Teams 109 (ALICE LUTHY / CINDY PASCUAL - Lamalou immobilier), 124 (Marine MICHELANGELI / Christelle REYMONET - ESAF) and 167 (Dianeba CISSOKHO / Catherine REGOJO GENOTAL - SNCF) arrive together and execute a few crazy dance steps! Dominique Serra, founder and director of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc, is also at the finish line to congratulate the teams: “Bravo! That’s it, you’re all Gazelles now!”

#FreeNasrin

Dominique Serra has dedicated this 29th edition to Nasrin Sotoudeh – prominent Iranian lawyer and human rights advocate – who has been sentenced to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes for “inciting corruption and prostitution” by defending women who took off their headscarves in public.

I encourage everyone to sign the petition for her release.
