Koni: an obvious choice

PAROLE DE PARTENAIRE
Around the rally

Koni, a long-time partner of the Bab el Raid, another Maïenga event, is an official partner of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc for the second consecutive year. Stéphane Ducreau, Director of Koni France, is attending the starting ceremonies in Nice.

Sixty teams have Koni shock absorbers

With more than 160 years of expertise, Koni is a market leader in shock absorbers, including 4×4 vehicles. For this 29th edition, at least sixty teams are equipped with the brand, which has applied its extensive knowledge of heavy vehicles to the constraints of 4×4s, especially for trail driving. “So it was only natural for us to partner with the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc. It follows logically from the Bab El Raid; all our experiences with that event have been extremely positive.”

Endurance, comfort and safety

Today, Koni shock absorbers are perfectly adapted to the conditions the Gazelles must face and what they are looking for: endurance, comfort and safety: “We are sure that they will have the best possible conditions for the rally, and could even do it a second time, or even a third, with the same shocks.”

Pushing one’s limits

“To me, this rally is the culmination of a project, a dream, and when we see the Gazelles at the finish line, they are completely transformed, I think it’s great. They really push their limits, and I totally support that.” One last piece of advice for participants: “Above all, be careful, don’t confuse speed with haste! To reach the end, you have to take it easy on yourselves and your vehicle. That way you are sure to get there.” Stéphane Ducreau will meet us in the Moroccan desert on March 27 to support his teams and to bask in the rally atmosphere that he enjoys so much.

#FreeNasrin

Dominique Serra has dedicated this 29th edition to Nasrin Sotoudeh – prominent Iranian lawyer and human rights advocate – who has been sentenced to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes for “inciting corruption and prostitution” by defending women who took off their headscarves in public.

I encourage everyone to sign the petition for her release.
